Pueblo Mechanical was selected as the partner for HVAC maintenance and repair services for four Chino Valley Unified School District campuses in Chino Valley, Arizona. With the challenge of upgrading equipment in buildings dating back to the early 1920s, our crews got to work, replacing 142 evaporative coolers with packaged rooftop A/C units with natural gas heating. The evaporative coolers of Del Rio Elementary School, Heritage Middle School, Territorial Early Childhood Center, and Chino Valley High School were not providing adequate cooling and exceeded their equipment life expectancy.
To reduce the humidity levels in classrooms, we provided rooftop units, ductwork, and ceiling air devices in a timely matter while minimizing disruption to classroom and administrative activities. In the end, we were able to utilize temporary classroom trailers to complete the work over a year and half, and the teaching staff was happy to have air conditioning with new ceilings and LED lighting.
